Congratulations to one of our Capital Crew Masters honored by Sac State Aquatic Center
It is our pleasure to announce our first volunteer recognition award for special events hosted by the Sacramento State Aquatic Center. This is so meaningful to us as we would not be able to host a single one of these events without dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers. Volunteers are the backbone of each and every event we host. At these events we rely on approximately 200+ volunteers who do everything from checking heel ties and bowballs, to holding onto the sterns of boats so that they get off to a great and fair start, punching stop watches, recording times, and handing out awards to countless other tasks that keep us one of the most sought out competition sites.
This special volunteer award goes to someone who in the past year has volunteered at every event that the Aquatic Center has held. Volunteer statistics say that for every fifty that watch, only one comes forward to help. And as on many occasions, you were that unique and selfless individual that came forward and said, “How can I help?”. We thank you for being a tireless volunteer and setting an excellent example for us all. We appreciate you immensely. The smile that you bring with you as you volunteer and flash at us constantly becomes our beacon that shows us all that we can do this work and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, even when it is raining cats and dogs, or the sun is pelting down and your sunscreen has melted away. We love your v-neck alterations to our volunteer shirts and your willingness to do any job in all conditions. You also find a way to recruit others to come out and share the experience of being a volunteer. You inspire and motivate us to be like you. We wish that the good you do for us returns to you a hundredfold! We do not have enough zeroes to put at the end of your price to indicate how much we appreciate you.
